Dayton Hartman has written a fine introduction to Christian eschatology, the doctrine of the last things. In this short book, he provides an introduction to relevant biblical passages and to the various views held in the church over the centuries. He includes important warnings against speculation and good encouragements to the unity of the church, since views of the last days have been terribly divisive over the years. This is a solid book. It provides a short but practical introduction to the study of eschatology (the end times) and encourages the reader to keep the whole story of redemption in perspective. While views and interpretations of the end times vary (the author gives a very helpful explanation of the four primary views), the most important thing is how they all agree—Jesus will return and He wins. Dayton wisely uses the historical creeds (Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed) and the development of Christian belief as a basis for his argument. For anyone who is overwhelmed or confused when thinking about how the world ends, I’d recommend this as a helpful resource and starting place.

Fantastic book. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for more clarity on the different views there are about the book of Revelation. It also does a great job of pointing to the fact that the most important view is that Jesus wins.Glenn Crouch

I thoroughly enjoyed this short and easy-to-read book on Eschatology, with it's strong emphasis that all Christians can get behind: "Jesus Wins!". The Author briefly covers various millennial views with the aim of being informative rather than pros/cons - and he encourages healthy and respectful dialogue amongst Christians with different views - which I am very much in favour of! He also correctly argues (in my opinion) that when we concentrate on our differences we overlook what we have in common. Thus when it comes to the Second Coming and End Times, let us be united in proclaiming to each other and the World that Jesus Wins! Plus this is quite well referenced and has a decent bibliography for a small book. Highly recommended to fellow Christians, and for those who want to have a better understanding of what Christians believe in regards to "End Times".
